Course Description

This course covers a number of specialized MapInfo functions. Topics to be investigated include managing map views, seamless tables, View tables, Save Query, MID/MIF format, hotlinking, redistricting, graphing data, 3D modeling with MapInfo, MapInfo tool manager, and several tips and techniques.

Course Objectives

• Complete exercises in managing map views
• Illustrate construction and use of a seamless table
• Create and discuss View tables
• Work with MapInfo’s Save Query function and discuss its uses
• Investigate the MID/MIF format and complete exercises using edits in Wordpad
• Register a raster image to vector data
• Review map export processes
• Discuss redistricting and work on a few examples
• Learn how to graph data with MapInfo
• Perform 3D modeling in MapInfo
• Investigate several utilities found under the Tool Manager
• Complete the day by examining several tips and techniques

Prerequisites:  Introductory MapInfo course, or competent MapInfo skills
